Heart of House Talent Coach (Supervisor-Stewards)

About the role

The Heart of House Talent Coach supervises and supports the steward team in a busy hotel environment, ensuring efficient clean‑up, proper chemical usage, and seamless banquet service. This role combines hands‑on operational duties with coaching and staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to maximise clean‑up efficiency.
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels, documenting compliance.
• Assist with banquet plate‑ups and support buffet operations by transporting stock.
• Provide cooks and kitchen staff with required items and return cleaned equipment to proper locations.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating employees.
• Follow all safety and security policies, report incidents and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets and uphold confidentiality.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs and communicate clearly.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lb, standing for long periods and moving on varied surfaces.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of related hospitality experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
