Instrument Technician II

About the role

The Instrument Technician II is responsible for ensuring instrument assets are reliable and available to keep process units operating safely in an oil‑and‑gas environment. The role leads a team of maintenance technicians, coordinates preventive and breakdown maintenance, and acts as the focal point for daily instrument maintenance execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance technician team to execute preventive and breakdown maintenance on instrument systems, equipment and facilities.
• Develop and follow monthly and weekly maintenance plans, submit progress reports, and keep records of daily maintenance work.
• Perform onsite maintenance and repairs on all types of instruments, ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Conduct site visits to verify proper execution of work, monitor technicians, and provide recommendations to the Instrument foreman.
• Assist in engineering modifications and enhancements to instrument equipment to improve suitability and serviceability.

Required profile

• Minimum 4–6 years of oil & gas maintenance experience with a diploma or bachelor’s degree.
• Proven leadership skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment and travel internationally.
• Strong communication skills in oral and written English.
• Well‑organized, proactive and able to make judgments under pressure.
