Insurance Pharmacist

About the role

We are looking for an Insurance Pharmacist to provide back‑line support to our pharmacy team, ensuring smooth handling of insurance queries, pre‑authorisation requests and medication coverage issues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with insurance‑related queries and provide accurate guidance.
• Follow up on rejected pre‑authorisation requests, verify coverage under CHI policy and obtain medical justification.
• Communicate directly with insurance company doctors and delegates to secure medication approvals.
• Manage missed pre‑authorisation requests and ensure timely processing.
• Stay updated on insurance company policies and medical guidelines to apply exceptions and make fast decisions.
• Educate patients on their insurance coverage and answer related questions.
• Update lists of non‑covered medications and drug formulary classifications according to CHI and SFDA guidelines.
• Train front‑line pharmacists on insurance procedures and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge.
• Analyse rejected medication data to reduce future claim rejections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar pharmacy insurance role.
• Insurance Foundation Certificate.
