Internal Audit Officer

About the role

The Internal Audit Officer will evaluate, monitor and enhance the internal control environment, risk management frameworks and operational processes across the organisation. Working closely with operational, financial and technical teams, the role ensures compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements and statutory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engagement schedules, audit budgets and time‑frames in line with internal audit standards.
• Monitor, track and report progress of audit reviews, control testing and corrective‑action plans.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory and corporate contract requirements.
• Design audit strategies, technical solutions and risk‑mitigation plans for governance, financial control and operations.
• Research, draft and issue internal audit reports, executive presentations and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate audit files, testing records, working papers and documentation using appropriate software systems.
• Assist in training staff and business units on internal‑control compliance and audit software tools.
• Contribute to annual audit budgeting, resource allocation and engagement scheduling.
• Review procurement processes, vendor, consultant and subcontractor selections.
• Communicate continuously with department heads, site supervisors, factory leads and executive management.
• Analyse financial data, operational workflows and project records to identify risks and cost implications.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of internal audit standards, corporate policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to monitor, track and report audit progress and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and contract compliance requirements.
• Capability to develop technical audit solutions and risk‑mitigation plans.
• Proficiency in preparing audit reports, executive presentations and formal correspondence.
• Experience maintaining detailed audit documentation and working papers.
