Internal Audit Planning & QA Lead Specialist

About the role

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) is hiring an Internal Audit Planning & QA Lead Specialist in Riyadh. The role leads internal audit work autonomously, acting as an internal consultant and facilitator who develops the audit strategy, KPIs, quality assurance guidelines, policies and the annual audit plan, ensures compliance with governing regulations, supports risk mitigation plans and consolidates audit reports.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update the internal audit strategy, objectives, quality assurance guidelines, charters, policies and procedures in line with ZATCA's needs, best practices and international standards
• Define internal audit KPIs with targets to measure performance and service quality
• Interview relevant functions to understand processes and identify potential risks
• Support the Risks and Analytics function in building the risk register and mitigation plan
• Consolidate audit programmes into an annual plan with functions, frequency and schedule
• Assess the resources needed and ensure compliance with governing laws and regulations
• Coordinate audit projects and initiatives, ensuring timely reporting and completion
• Carry out quality assurance checks such as document reviews, gap assessments, sampling and feedback from auditees, and recommend improvements
• Train the internal audit team and provide awareness on technical capabilities and integrity
• Support on-site audits, consolidate audit reports with findings, non-conformities and improvement opportunities, and follow up on corrective action plans
• Consult internal customers, document and archive audit records, and help solve escalated problems while mentoring junior staff

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent; a Master's degree is a plus
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
