IT Applications Lead Engineer

About the role

The IT Applications Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s critical IT applications. The role involves troubleshooting complex incidents, managing change requests, and ensuring service levels are met.

Key responsibilities

• Research and benchmark latest IT application operational trends, assess current models, and define an operations framework aligned with business strategy.
• Collect inputs from business owners, develop and maintain best‑in‑class application operations to meet KPIs.
• Receive, prioritize, and resolve application incidents, ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPI targets.
• Identify production outages, diagnose root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
• Plan and execute proactive and preventive maintenance activities, updating documentation accordingly.
• Review change requests, perform impact analysis, and provide recommendations.
• Monitor application health, recommend performance and hardware improvements, and optimise resources.
• Follow policies, processes, and SOPs; support junior team members and escalate complex issues when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in IT application operations or engineering.
• Competencies: Infrastructure Management (Proficient), Collaboration & Communication (Developing), IT Operations Management (Advanced).
