IT Specialist

About the role

The IT Specialist provides essential technical support and system administration within a healthcare environment. You will ensure hardware, software, and network services operate smoothly while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Respond to service requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in‑person.
• Troubleshoot and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals.
• Install, configure and maintain software, hardware, servers and data storage systems.
• Assist with IT asset tracking, inventory management and equipment setup.
• Document technical issues and solutions in the service‑desk knowledge base.
• Escalate complex problems to senior staff or specialized teams.
• Support onboarding and off‑boarding tasks, including hardware deployment and account setup.
• Monitor system and network performance, plan upgrades and integrate new applications.
• Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery and security procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of IT support experience for junior roles or at least 3 years for senior roles, preferably in a healthcare setting.
