IT Specialist – Technical Support & System Administration

About the role

We are looking for an IT Specialist to provide first- and second‑level technical support and ensure the smooth operation of our hardware, software, and network environments. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting with system administration and offers opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑ and second‑level support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other peripherals.
• Respond to service requests via phone, email, ticketing system or in‑person.
• Install, configure and maintain software, hardware, servers and data‑storage systems.
• Monitor system performance, availability and network health.
• Develop and execute backup, disaster‑recovery and security procedures.
• Document issues and solutions in the service‑desk knowledge base.
• Assist with onboarding/off‑boarding, hardware deployment and account setup.
• Lead and mentor team members, providing training and best‑practice guidance.
• Plan, test and implement system upgrades and new application integrations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of IT support experience (or 3+ years for senior‑level responsibilities) in a healthcare environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
