Junior Data Engineer – Data Platform

About the role

Deraah, a perfume and cosmetics retail group with about 900 branches, is hiring a Junior Data Engineer for its Data Platform team in Riyadh. The role suits early-career professionals who want to build skills in data engineering, analytics and modern data technologies while supporting the company's data infrastructure and business intelligence work. The position is full-time, with an estimated salary of SAR 7,000 to 10,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and processing.
• Support data warehousing operations and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep data accurate, consistent and reliably reported.
• Help build scalable data solutions with modern engineering tools and technologies.
• Contribute to data integration and business intelligence initiatives.
• Improve data platform performance and operational efficiency.
• Apply data quality practices so business information remains reliable and accessible.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related technical field.
• Native Arabic speaker.
• Candidates living in Saudi Arabia are preferred; immediate joiners are highly preferred, and those with a maximum two-week notice period may also apply.
• Iqama transfer is available for suitable candidates.

Required skills

• Strong SQL skills.
• Basic Python knowledge.
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Preferred: dbt, Airflow, ClickHouse, Kafka, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric or Odoo.
• Preferred: Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700 certification.
