Junior Instrumentation Design Engineer

About the role

A Junior Instrumentation Design Engineer is an entry‑level engineering professional who assists in the design, specification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, petrochemical facilities, power plants, and manufacturing industries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instrumentation design documents and drawings.
• Develop instrument index, I/O lists, and cable schedules.
• Support selection and specification of field instruments such as pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, level instruments, and control valves.
• Review P&IDs and prepare instrument hook‑up drawings and installation details.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, and piping disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews and site visits as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in instrumentation design or engineering projects.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of instrumentation and control engineering principles.
• Familiarity with IEC, ISA and API standards.
• Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
• Understanding of PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.
