Junior VTS Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Operator to join our maritime operations team. In this entry‑level position you will support safe and efficient ship movements while learning the core processes of traffic management under close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and promptly with ships, agents, pilots and marine assets following established procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing safe traffic plans, ensuring compliance with operational limits.
• Support berth allocation and vessel scheduling to minimise delays.
• Maintain accurate VTS records, documentation and reports ready for review.
• Respond to emergency calls, report incidents and follow escalation protocols.
• Help with VTS office tasks such as handling passes, permits and administrative coordination.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work under supervision and learn maritime traffic management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and report issues promptly.
