Lead Electrical Engineer

About the role

Cipla is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive green‑field and brown‑field projects for its API manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within cost and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project charters, concept notes and business cases for electrical scope.
• Design plant layouts, electrical plans, control panels, junction boxes and conduit/wiring systems following NEC and IEC standards.
• Perform engineering calculations such as power consumption, transformer sizing and instrument loop impedances.
• Prepare URS/RDS, technical specifications, risk assessments and project schedules with major milestones.
• Coordinate with procurement, contractors, sub‑contractors and internal departments to secure timely delivery of materials and execution of works.
• Obtain statutory and regulatory approvals at each project stage and evaluate vendors against Cipla specifications.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to time, cost, quality and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years (144 months) of experience as a Lead Project Engineer in pharmaceutical API green‑field or brown‑field projects.
• Strong knowledge of API process utility equipment (reactors, centrifuges, dryers, isolators, transformers, DG sets, boilers, chillers) and their electrical functions.
• Proven ability to prepare business cases, cost estimates and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with national and international electrical codes and regulatory approval processes.
