Lead Process Design Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting a highly experienced Lead Process Design Engineer for the oil and gas industry, based on site in Dhahran. You will lead project teams in designing and developing process engineering solutions for the GOSP facility, optimizing them for efficiency, safety and regulatory compliance, while guiding junior engineers and working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for process design activities for the GOSP facility and lead the process design team, assigning tasks and reviewing work.
• Develop and standardize the project's process design basis, design guidelines and technical specifications, and finalize key process schemes and the technical execution strategy.
• Organize and review process calculations, including preliminary sizing of major equipment, pipeline hydraulic calculations and pressure relief/blowdown system calculations.
• Prepare, review and approve key documents such as P&IDs, design basis, equipment data sheets, hazardous area drawings, relief system reports and operating manuals.
• Act as the main process interface with the client, project management team, other disciplines and equipment vendors, and ensure designs follow Saudi Aramco standards and Saudi regulations.
• Lead model reviews, project technical meetings, and provide process support to the site team during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning, including reviewing technical queries and design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 years of process design experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience as a Process Lead or Principal Process Engineer on 2-3 complete projects covering EPC phase design of major upstream facilities.
• Extensive experience with Saudi Aramco or similar major oil and gas companies and mastery of Aramco standards.
• SCE certification or eligibility, and a valid Saudi Aramco certification/work permit.
• Fluent English; basic Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Process simulation software such as HYSYS and PipeSIM, able to guide the team.
• In-depth knowledge of upstream treatment processes such as oil-gas separation, dehydration, desalination and compression.
• Ability to independently review critical process calculations and equipment data sheets.
• Project management and time management skills, and strong technical communication.
