Lead Specialist, Engineering and Virtualization

About the role

Ma'aden, a major mining and metals company, is hiring a Lead Specialist, Engineering and Virtualization II in Riyadh. The role supports the organization's Data & AI strategy by delivering resilient, scalable and secure platform engineering and virtualization capabilities, and strengthens infrastructure, performance and technology standards across the Data & AI ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver secure, scalable, high-performing virtualization and platform environments for business-critical applications and Data & AI services, optimizing capacity, availability and performance.
• Enable Data & AI workloads through platform architecture, virtualization technologies and infrastructure services, accelerating deployment of data platforms, analytics and AI capabilities.
• Improve service stability through monitoring, automation and performance optimization, and reduce complexity through standardization and process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise technology, cybersecurity and infrastructure standards, and strengthen security with controls, vulnerability mitigation and access governance.
• Adopt emerging virtualization, cloud and platform engineering technologies, and identify opportunities to automate infrastructure management.
• Collaborate with technology teams, vendors and business stakeholders, provide technical leadership and build organizational capability through knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in platform engineering, virtualization, cloud infrastructure or enterprise technology environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure and mission-critical applications, and in Data & AI environments or digital transformation programs.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional engagements.
