Lead Specialist, Governance & Master Data

About the role

Ma'aden, a major multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East, is hiring a Lead Specialist, Governance & Master Data in Riyadh on a full-time basis. The role strengthens the company's treatment of data as a trusted enterprise asset by setting standards, ownership, controls and master data foundations that support reliable reporting, analytics, AI, automation and business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Establish governance frameworks, policies, standards and decision rights, and embed them into business processes and technology delivery
• Govern master data definitions, hierarchies, business rules and lifecycle controls across assets, materials, suppliers and employees
• Define measurable data quality rules and drive root-cause resolution of recurring data issues
• Strengthen metadata, lineage, cataloguing and traceability
• Integrate data quality, ownership, security, metadata and lineage controls into data pipelines, cloud environments and analytics platforms
• Identify and mitigate governance, privacy, security and master data risks, and maintain evidence-based controls for compliance and audit readiness
• Train data owners, stewards, analysts and technology teams and influence adoption of master data standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems or a related discipline
• 8-10 years of experience in data governance, master data management or enterprise data management
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance and master data frameworks
• Experience establishing data quality, stewardship, metadata, lineage or data catalogue capabilities in a complex organization
