Legal Director – Strategic & Commercial Law

About the role

The Legal Director will partner with the Chief Legal Officer to lead the legal function, providing strategic, commercial and regulatory advice across the organisation. This senior position is responsible for managing legal risk, supporting growth initiatives and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical, business‑focused legal advice to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Support strategic projects, partnerships, market expansion initiatives and corporate transactions.
• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory, employment, intellectual property and compliance matters.
• Manage external counsel, legal budgets and dispute resolution processes.
• Develop and improve legal policies, templates, processes and governance frameworks.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Mentor and develop members of the Legal team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Qualified lawyer able to practice in a recognised jurisdiction.
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience, preferably a mix of private practice and in‑house roles.
• Experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory and governance matters.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Background in fast‑paced, highly regulated or multinational organisations.
• Leadership, stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
