Legal Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Specialist to lead legal and execution for our industrial vaccine company, covering manufacturing, regulatory, HR, intellectual property, supply and corporate matters. The role advises senior leadership, works independently on complex issues and mentors junior legal staff.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on regulatory requirements for vaccine development, licensure, manufacturing and distribution across authorities such as FDA, EMA and WHO.
• Lead negotiation of high‑value supply, off‑take, distribution, cold‑chain logistics and CMO/CDMO agreements.
• Own IP strategy, direct patent prosecution, conduct freedom‑to‑operate analyses and negotiate licensing arrangements.
• Negotiate clinical trial agreements, manage product liability exposure and support emergency use authorisations.
• Oversee data‑protection compliance (GDPR, HIPAA) and advise on biosafety, import/export controls and waste handling.
• Provide corporate governance advice, support fundraising, M&A and manage litigation and arbitration strategy.
• Serve as strategic legal advisor to senior leadership and deliver legal training to scientific and commercial teams.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. / J.D.) required; LL.M. strongly preferred.
• 3–7 years post‑qualification experience in vaccines, pharma, biologics or a top‑tier life‑sciences law firm.
• Proven track record negotiating complex supply, licensing and technology‑transfer agreements.
• Solid understanding of vaccine regulatory frameworks, GMP and licensure requirements.
• Strong knowledge of patent law and IP strategy in the life‑sciences sector.
• Experience with cross‑border transactions and multi‑jurisdictional issues.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills; ability to manage external counsel.
