Linux/AIX/Container Engineer

About the role

The Linux/AIX/Container Engineer will design, implement and maintain mission‑critical Linux and AIX environments across physical, virtual and hybrid platforms. The role focuses on automation, security, performance tuning and high‑availability to ensure stable, resilient infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical workloads.
• Design and operate AIX servers on pSeries, including LPARs, VIO servers and PowerVM.
• Automate OS provisioning, patching and configuration using Ansible, SaltStack or Puppet.
• Integrate Unix platforms with security controls, log forwarding and SIEM tools.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Support disaster‑recovery readiness and participate in HA testing.
• Provide technical support for infrastructure incidents and contribute to project implementations.
• Document configurations, incidents and maintain centralized management tools (RedHat Satellite, SUSE Manager).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 2 years in a similar Linux/AIX engineering role.
• Strong analytical skills and a continuous‑learning mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals, kernel tuning and RHEL/CentOS/SUSE.
• Expertise in AIX, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM and VIO servers.
• Virtualization experience with KVM and VMware.
• Automation tools: Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet.
• Centralized management: RedHat Satellite, SUSE Manager.
• Security hardening (CIS), log forwarding, SIEM integration and OS‑level auditing.
