Mandarin Translator

About the role

The Translator/Interpreter will provide high‑quality translation and interpretation services to support technical, commercial and business activities across the Hatch × Ma'aden partnership. The role ensures accurate communication between English‑ and Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders, enabling effective collaboration across engineering, project delivery, operations, procurement and leadership teams.

Key responsibilities

• Translate technical documents, engineering reports, specifications, procedures, presentations and project documentation between English and Mandarin.
• Review translated materials for linguistic accuracy, consistency and appropriate industry terminology.
• Maintain translation records, terminology databases and reference materials.
• Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, negotiations and site visits.
• Facilitate cross‑cultural communication among project teams, clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Assist project teams by translating technical information, conducting basic research and preparing summarized meeting notes.

Required profile

• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Strong technical understanding of the mining and metals industry.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced project environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on precision and reliability.

Required skills

• Experience translating technical and engineering documents.
