Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Mechanical/BIM Engineer to lead the design and coordination of building mechanical systems across commercial, healthcare, institutional and industrial projects. The role involves delivering code‑compliant, efficient solutions for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, irrigation, medical gases, compressed air and smoke evacuation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept, schematic and detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, fire‑fighting, LPG, water supply and drainage systems.
• Prepare design criteria, basis of design reports and select appropriate systems based on project requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations such as HVAC load, hydraulic analysis and equipment sizing.
• Ensure designs comply with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SBC, MOMRA, IPC) and local authority regulations.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural and electrical disciplines and resolve clashes during BIM coordination workshops.
• Produce design reports, calculations, drawings and tender documents; generate AutoCAD and Revit models.
• Prepare authority submission packages, respond to technical comments and support client meetings.
• Provide technical input during tender clarifications and post‑contract design support.

Required profile

• Significant experience in mechanical design for building services.
• Strong knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and manage design coordination.
• Excellent analytical skills for performing load and hydraulic calculations.
