Mechanical Engineer – Arabic Speaker

About the role

Our client, an Italian multinational operating in Riyadh, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is fluent in Arabic. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all mechanical designs and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review and align contractor technical designs and specifications for HVAC, plumbing and firefighting systems with client requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate with the mechanical team and other disciplines to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
• Approve shop drawings and material submittals in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Consolidate mechanical review comments and assign tasks to subject‑matter experts.
• Provide input on drawings and documents from other disciplines.
• Answer technical queries during tender periods and support tender evaluations.
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, HAZOP studies, 3D modeling reviews and optimisation studies.
• Resolve technical issues and change orders raised by contractors.
• Assess contractor material proposals against performance requirements and advise the Technical Manager.
• Ensure correct standards are applied in all project deliverables.
• Maintain effective communication with peers, Section Chief and project management.
• Forecast trends and anticipate potential problems affecting milestones or budget.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognised university.
• 7‑10 years of consultancy experience as a Mechanical Engineer in Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to work with and lead a multicultural team of engineers.
