Mechanical Engineer – Core Engineering

About the role

Join AECOM as a Mechanical Engineer and contribute to large‑scale infrastructure projects that improve communities worldwide. You will work on specific portions of broader engineering assignments, delivering reliable solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform defined sections of engineering projects, following established procedures.
• Identify and document discrepancies in test results or calculations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry‑level engineers.
• Execute work within agreed budgets and schedules with moderate supervision.
• Gather, correlate, and analyze basic engineering data.
• Carry out detailed calculations and routine tests.
• Propose innovative approaches to solve new problems encountered during execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Proven ability to document technical findings clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Demonstrated project management experience with defined schedules and budgets.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
