Mechanical Engineer – Plant Equipment & Systems

About the role

The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the supervision, troubleshooting, and design of plant mechanical equipment and systems in Alkhomra, Jeddah. The role involves ensuring reliable operation of a wide range of industrial machinery while supporting continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and machinery across the plant.
• Design, manufacture, and optimise mechanical systems, including transmission, drives, gears, bearings, couplings and gearboxes.
• Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, boiler, chiller, air‑compressor, pump, motor‑drive, conveyor and press equipment.
• Perform basic fabrication and machining tasks such as drilling, grinding and welding.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance programme for all plant mechanical assets.
• Collaborate with electrical troubleshooting, utilities, and the technical department manager to ensure equipment reliability.
• Analyse new products for performance, safety and longevity, recommending cost‑effective manufacturing methods.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in industrial mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including shift work and overtime.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Industrial mechanical systems: transmission, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, gearboxes.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses.
• Fabrication and machining: drilling, grinding, welding.
• Knowledge of ceramic‑tiles manufacturing procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with industrial safety, security measures and ISO systems (added value).
