Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance & Design

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the supervision, troubleshooting and design of plant mechanical equipment at our Alkhomra facility in Jeddah. The role involves ensuring reliable operation of a wide range of industrial systems and supporting continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery across the plant.
• Design, manufacture and optimise mechanical systems, including transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance programme for all mechanical assets.
• Collaborate with the Electrical Troubleshooting Section, Utilities and Technical Department Manager to maintain equipment reliability.
• Analyse new product performance, safety and longevity, recommending cost‑effective manufacturing methods.
• Monitor mechanical systems using computer tools and adjust parameters to maintain optimal operation.
• Provide technical support for boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors and presses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial mechanical systems maintenance or design.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently, in shifts and outside normal hours.
• Strong teamwork and problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Industrial mechanical systems: transmissions, drives, gears, bearings, couplings, gearboxes.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic system design and maintenance.
• Boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, motor drives, conveyors, presses.
• Fabrication and machining: drilling, grinding, welding.
• Use of computer monitoring tools for mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of ceramic‑tile manufacturing procedures and standards.
• Understanding of industrial safety, security measures and ISO standards.
