Mechanical Engineer – R&D for Patriot Systems

About the role

The position supports the sustainment of Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces (RSADF) Patriot systems. It focuses on solving mechanical and hydraulic challenges, improving maintenance procedures, and developing local repair solutions while providing technical studies and workshop support.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve mechanical and hydraulic equipment problems in weaponry systems.
• Analyze parts for potential self‑manufacturing and prepare engineering drawings.
• Apply mechanical engineering calculations, designs, and documentation to propose solutions.
• Enhance maintenance and repair procedures for increased effectiveness.
• Prepare and submit technical study reports with recommendations to department leadership.
• Investigate technical issues across various mechanical and hydraulic domains of Air Defense systems.
• Assess feasibility of modifying or developing subsystems.
• Generate specifications for locally sourced or manufactured components.
• Provide engineering advice to repair shops and field units.
• Draft technical bulletins to prevent errors and improve performance.
• Support MTSD workshops with technical consultations and complete assignments from the Center Director.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university (preferably Saudi Council of Engineers accredited).
• Minimum of five years of experience in mechanical engineering and research.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong computer skills and experience writing technical reports.

• SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD for mechanical design.
• Engineering calculations and design drawing preparation.
