Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering the plant industry from feasibility studies through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M, is hiring a Mechanical Supervisor in Jubail. The role supervises and supports subcontractors so that construction proceeds effectively according to project specifications and safely, and covers site supervision according to drawings and the work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings and PNDIDs and prepare site instructions, method statements and preservation plans
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors and other disciplines, and arrange materials and tools
• Monitor mechanical plant, control systems and equipment performance, failures and serviceability, and coordinate mechanical inspections
• Assess technical proposals for mechanical upgrades or new equipment and their process integration
• Plan and coordinate work activities, including a 3-week construction plan, and check daily, weekly and monthly quantities
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly construction reports and record best practice and lessons learned
• Ensure safe conditions with the safety department and construction quality in line with project specs and the ITP
• Manage interfaces with clients and other stakeholders, and coordinate with auditors, regulators and third parties

Required profile

• Construction experience as a supervisor in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants
• Preferred: experience in a Middle Eastern engineering and construction company, from construction stage through commissioning/start-up
• Knowledge of rotating, stationary and tank equipment, heavy rigging and package vendor items
• Knowledge of commissioning mechanical works (MRT, solo run test, oil flushing) and ITP review
• Excellent communication and leadership qualities
