QC Inspector - Piping (Preservation)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for piping preservation in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the project's quality management system, sets up inspection and test plans and records, and ensures work conforms to quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and carry out inspection of the piping discipline, including setting and applying practical inspection processes based on project requirements and international codes.
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) with sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare or review subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR), and approve inspection reports.
• Control inspection status with tools such as an inspection matrix and close out Non-Conforming Reports (NCR) within the due date, supporting corrective actions.
• Coordinate inspection with the client, act as QC Supervisor in their absence, and run toolbox talks to control quality violations.
• Review and track material submittals, inspect incoming deliveries visually and by measurement, and reject unacceptable materials.
• Inspect pre-fabricated spools, review welding history, and approve test packages, line walks, punch preparation and hydro test inspections.
• Monitor RT backlog, review and approve test packages, and support pre-commissioning, plant start-up and final hand-over.

Required profile

• Diploma in engineering.
• Certificate related to piping disciplines.
• Experience from project start to completion.
• Ability to plan and control inspections for medium-scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollars).

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of codes such as ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME, API 570 and AWS D1.1.
• Proficiency with inspection and test tools and measuring equipment.
• Analysis of non-conformities and preparation of reports.
