Medical Records & Coding Officer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Medical Records & Coding Officer to join our healthcare team in Abha. The role ensures that patient records are accurate, confidential and that all diagnoses and procedures are coded correctly to support billing, compliance and revenue cycle operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, organize and update patient medical records accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation.
• Assign correct diagnosis and procedure codes in line with ICD‑10, CPT and payer requirements.
• Support billing and revenue‑cycle teams by providing precise coding information.
• Identify and resolve documentation or coding discrepancies.
• Assist in addressing insurance claim denials related to coding or documentation issues.
• Ensure confidentiality, security and proper release of medical records.
• Participate in audits, inspections and accreditation activities such as CBAHI.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Medical Coding or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in medical records management or coding within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation standards and healthcare regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information with integrity.
• Excellent multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities.
• Fluency in Arabic; English proficiency is preferred.
