Mortuary Technician

About the role

The Mortuary Technician is responsible for the dignified, safe, and hygienic operation of the hospital mortuary, ensuring strict compliance with Ministry of Health infection control protocols and maintaining the chain of custody for deceased patients.

Key responsibilities

• Receive bodies from clinical wards, verify dual‑identifier tags and document chain of custody in the Morgue Register.
• Monitor and record temperature and humidity levels of cold chambers, reporting any deviations immediately.
• Coordinate terminal cleaning and disinfection of storage units, hydraulic lifts and surfaces using hospital‑grade agents.
• Apply MOH precautions for high‑risk infectious bodies (e.g., COVID‑19, MERS).
• Assist forensic authorities with body identification and sample preservation when police cases occur.
• Release bodies to families or municipal services.

Required profile

• Diploma or Associate Degree.
• Valid SCFHS registration.
• 0‑2 years of experience in health‑care settings.
• Arabic (advanced) and English (intermediate) language proficiency.
