Orthopaedic Registrar – Dhahran, Saudi Arabia

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Registrar to join a leading healthcare organisation in Dhahran, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective orthopaedic care under the supervision of an Attending Physician, while adhering to hospital credentials and clinical privileges.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, admit and manage orthopaedic patients across the Emergency Department, outpatient clinics and hospital wards.
• Conduct patient assessments, investigations, treatment planning and ongoing clinical management under supervision.
• Perform daily inpatient rounds, respond to clinical reviews, and provide timely consultations, including for intensive care patients.
• Participate in trauma, Code Blue and rapid response activities within approved privileges.
• Assist in the operating theatre and perform surgical procedures as permitted.
• Prepare discharge documentation and ensure accurate patient handover.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical audits, quality and safety initiatives, and teaching activities for junior doctors and medical students.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an approved school and a completed one‑year internship.
• Formal postgraduate training in Orthopaedics with relevant specialist certification.
• SCFHS registration as a Registrar and minimum two years of orthopaedic experience post‑internship.
• Experience in a university‑affiliated teaching hospital is preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision‑making and communication skills, with a commitment to patient safety and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call duties as required.
