Painter Technician – Facility Maintenance

About the role

This position is responsible for applying and maintaining high‑quality paint, stain, and finish coatings on walls, ceilings, furniture and other surfaces within the hotel property. The role supports the facilities team by preparing surfaces, executing paint work, and ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Apply paint, stain and finishes using brushes, spray guns or rollers.
• Prepare new surfaces with primers or sealers and remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire‑brushing, burning, water or abrasive blasting.
• Cover surfaces for protection, post appropriate signage, and clean up tools and equipment after each job.
• Coordinate with vendors to modify colors, stains or varnishes as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets and uphold confidentiality.
• Assist guests according to hotel standards, including individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 1 year of related painting or surface‑finishing experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Brush, spray‑gun and roller painting techniques.
• Surface preparation (priming, stripping, sanding, abrasive blasting).
• Color coordination with vendors.
• Adherence to safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
• Physical ability to work at height, lift up to 50 lb, and stand for extended periods.
