Plant Engineer - Gold Plant

About the role

This Plant Engineer position is based at a gold plant in Mahad, Saudi Arabia. The role manages the asset care management system in line with engineering standards, legislative and client requirements, and covers maintenance planning, shutdown coordination, project technical documents, procurement and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Control the allocation of work so that results meet client needs and service objectives
• Coordinate operational plans with engineering systems to maximise plant availability
• Assess legal requirements and ensure they are implemented and adhered to
• Provide technical support to operations on engineering matters to minimise engineering risk
• Prepare short, medium and long-term maintenance plans and analyse maintenance trends and variances
• Plan and coordinate major shutdowns with internal and external clients
• Assess areas where outsourcing or partnerships would be appropriate and recommend them
• Coordinate project technical documents so that content and cost fit the scope of work
• Direct or prepare and evaluate the technical aspects of procurement
• Develop and manage the quality plan, review engineering design progress and manage construction and commissioning
• Manage fund allocation against the approved budget and set engineering targets for production
• Lead people management and training, building a high-performance team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or NATED diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering with a GCC (Mines and Works)
• Minimum 8-10 years of post-GCC experience, preferably in a metallurgical processing plant
• Valid driver's licence code B, EB or C1
• English language proficiency
