Principal Specialist, Exploration & PDE Data Domain

About the role

Ma'aden, a major multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East, is hiring a Principal Specialist for its Exploration & Project Development & Evaluation (PDE) data domain in Riyadh. The role shapes the strategy, governance and value realization of exploration and PDE data assets, ensuring subsurface, geological, geophysical, drilling and reservoir data are trusted, accessible, secure and aligned with business priorities. It also drives digital initiatives, data quality and domain stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and execute the Exploration & PDE data domain strategy and establish a scalable data domain framework
• Strengthen data governance, integrity, consistency, ownership and regulatory compliance, and improve data quality through standards and stewardship
• Lead the development of data products that support operational and strategic decisions and increase their adoption
• Provide expert guidance on exploration, geological, geophysical, drilling and reservoir data management and influence data architecture decisions
• Build partnerships between business functions, digital teams and external partners, and promote advanced analytics, automation and AI

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management or a related discipline
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in exploration, subsurface, petroleum development, data management or digital transformation
• Demonstrated experience in data governance, data domains, master data or enterprise data management frameworks
• Experience leading cross-functional data initiatives and working in large-scale energy, mining or industrial organizations
