Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will lead end‑to‑end procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, and subcontract packages on complex projects. The role bridges engineering, planning and finance teams to ensure cost‑effective, timely delivery while maintaining quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full procurement cycle for materials, equipment, manpower and subcontract packages across multiple projects.
• Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with project schedules.
• Identify, pre‑qualify and manage suppliers and subcontractors, issuing RFQs/RFPs and handling technical and commercial clarifications.
• Review technical submissions, prepare comparison reports and lead commercial negotiations.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements, ensuring clear scope, delivery schedules, warranties, penalties and payment terms.
• Maintain audit‑ready procurement records and coordinate with engineering, planning, site, contracts and finance teams.
• Identify procurement‑related risks and propose mitigation measures to support cost control and budget compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or civil engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience as a Procurement Engineer, preferably with Grade A main contractors.
• Strong technical understanding of construction materials, systems and long‑lead specialist items.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and bid comparison.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, BOQs and contract documents.
