About the role

The Production Manager for the event fabrication workshop is responsible for overseeing the entire production cycle of event structures, exhibition stands, sets, and custom props, from initial design interpretation to final installation. This role bridges the gap between design, client servicing, and on‑ground fabrication, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high‑quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production schedules based on factory capacity, ensuring on‑time delivery of projects.
  • Review technical drawings and liaise with the design team to ensure production feasibility.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor workshop staff, including carpenters, metal fabricators, printers, painters.
  • Determine necessary material resources, manage inventory levels, and optimize usage to reduce wastage.
  • Monitor project budgets, prepare cost estimates, and implement strategies to save money on materials and labor.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards, inspecting final outputs before dispatch or installation.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols, maintain a clean, organized work environment, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Pre‑plan and oversee the installation and dismantlement of projects on‑site.
  • Submit weekly reports to management regarding project status, milestones, and achievements.

Required profile

  • 10+ years as a production manager in event industry, with carpentry, metalwork, printing, foam work, and painting shops.
  • Deep understanding of fabrication techniques (wood, metal, printing, foam, and painting) and material sourcing.
  • Experience with MS Office and, ideally, CAD software or ERP systems.
  • Strong team management abilities to foster a productive and safe work culture.
  • Ability to resolve production bottlenecks and adapt to changing timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production Management, or related field is often preferred, but extensive practical experience is highly valued.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
