Project Cost Controller

About the role

The Project Cost Controller will oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for large‑scale IT projects, ensuring alignment with approved plans and managing vendor contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and monitor budgets for IT projects, tracking actual expenditures against approved plans.
• Conduct cost and variance analysis, providing corrective recommendations to keep projects on budget.
• Develop cost estimation models and cash‑flow forecasts, updating them as project scope changes.
• Manage contract and vendor financials, verifying invoices, purchase orders and change requests against contractual terms.
• Support Project Managers and the PMO with financial business cases, feasibility studies and governance reporting.
• Apply Earned Value Management techniques (PV, EV, AC, CPI, SPI) to monitor schedule and cost performance.
• Produce regular financial reports, dashboards and KPI visualisations for senior management.
• Identify financial risks, assess their impact and propose mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, MIS, Computer Engineering or IT.
• Minimum 5 years of cost control experience on technology or IT projects, including at least 3 years on large‑scale implementations.
• Experience working within a PMO environment and handling IT contract and claims management.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, CMA, CPA are preferred.
