Project Engineer – Mechanical/Structural (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

H&P is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Middle East Engineering Support team. The role involves providing mechanical and structural solutions for drilling rig projects, supervising installations, and supporting field operations across Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical solutions for rig components and value‑engineer existing build programs.
• Coordinate construction projects with local fabricators and design new mechanical equipment and hydraulic arrangements.
• Perform site layouts, in‑field supervision, and oversight of installations and structural repairs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and analyses for design and modification projects.
• Support operations with CAT III & IV inspections, structural repairs, and in‑field upgrades.
• Collaborate with regional managers, Eastern Hemisphere Engineering team, and fabrication facilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide cross‑functional technical advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–3 years of mechanical/structural design experience, preferably with drilling rigs.
• Strong ability to perform hand calculations and CAD analysis.
• Familiarity with AISC design practices and API specifications.
• Knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven project‑leadership skills and willingness to travel regionally.
• Saudi Consul of Engineering certification.
