Project Manager - Gas Plant and Pipeline Operations

About the role

The Project Manager plans, executes and oversees operations and maintenance projects so that gas plants and pipelines perform safely, efficiently and reliably. The role calls for strong technical expertise, leadership and experience in gas plant and pipeline operations, and is based on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and execute operations and maintenance projects in line with company objectives and safety standards.
• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of plants and pipelines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Lead, supervise and manage technical teams, contractors and site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Develop maintenance strategies, schedules and budgets to minimise downtime and maximise asset life.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks and implement corrective actions where needed.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare and present reports on project status, performance metrics and operational issues.
• Use SAP PM for maintenance planning, tracking and reporting (preferred).

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant operations and maintenance experience.
• 3-5 years of hands-on O&M experience in gas plants and pipelines.
• Proven supervisory and people-management experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of gas plant and pipeline systems.
• Maintenance planning and asset management experience.
• SAP PM experience preferred.
• Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, communication and stakeholder management.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work under pressure.
