QA Integration Engineer

About the role

Master Works is looking for a QA Integration Engineer to ensure the robustness, reliability, and security of enterprise integration flows built on the IBM webMethods platform. The role focuses on designing and automating comprehensive API tests for REST and SOAP services that connect core back‑office systems, third‑party web services, and micro‑services.

Key responsibilities

• Review integration specifications, Swagger/OpenAPI docs, and data‑mapping sheets to create end‑to‑end testing strategies.
• Design, build, and execute functional, regression, boundary, and negative test scenarios for APIs running on IBM webMethods.
• Validate bidirectional data exchange and state changes across ERP, asset‑management, and legacy databases.
• Develop and maintain automated API test suites integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform payload structure, schema (JSON/XML), data‑transformation, and transaction‑rollback verification.
• Execute non‑functional tests such as rate‑limiting, latency benchmarks, error‑handling resilience, and token authentication (OAuth, mTLS).
• Track defects, coordinate root‑cause analysis with developers, and monitor fixes to closure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software quality‑assurance experience, with at least 2 years focused on middleware, micro‑services, and API integration testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Enterprise Service Bus or integration middleware (IBM webMethods, MuleSoft, TIBCO, etc.).
• ISTQB Advanced certification or equivalent is preferred.

Required skills

• IBM webMethods integration platform.
• API testing tools: Postman, Newman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, JMeter.
• Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP protocols, OAuth, mTLS, and other authentication mechanisms.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for database validation.
• Scripting in Python or JavaScript for automated test scripts.
• CI/CD automation with Azure DevOps or GitLab.
• XML/JSON parsing and schema validation.
• Mock service virtualization and message‑broker concepts.
