QC Inspector - Electrical (Cathodic)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and other industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for the electrical discipline (cathodic protection) in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the project's quality management system and monitors construction against project specifications, codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical inspections, generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) and coordinate inspections with the client
• Prepare and review subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR)
• Review and approve inspection reports, control NCRs and support corrective action plans
• Inspect incoming materials, reject unacceptable ones and ensure proper handling, storage and preservation
• Witness testing of switchgear, transformers, MV power cables, motor no-load tests and cathodic protection systems
• Prepare and review energization and motor solo run packages, and review loop folders
• Carry out QC supervisor duties in their absence and run toolbox talks on quality violations

Required profile

• Documented experience as a QA/QC electrical inspector or supervisor
• Two years of documented experience in cathodic protection for the required application
• Wide exposure to electrical and instrumentation installation and pre-commissioning in plants such as petrochemical, refinery, CO2 capture and injection facilities

Required skills

• Knowledge of international codes and standards for cathodic protection systems (anode, cable and rectifier connections)
• Ability to interpret cathodic protection design packages and assess compliance with contractual requirements
• Proficiency in ITP study, RFI management, punch list control and documentation control
