QC Inspector - HVAC

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M across oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time HVAC Quality Control Inspector in Jubail. The inspector contributes to site quality by handling quality issues in line with corporate and project standards, carrying out inspections and keeping inspection status controlled.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections on HVAC disciplines and record results on forms as per the ITP, updating inspection status via inspection matrices
• Prepare inspection records for the MC document and prepare, review and track material submittals
• Report non-conformities and observations to QC Supervisors and QC Managers, and coordinate inspections with client inspectors
• Prepare NCRs under the direction of the QC Supervisor or QC Manager
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) where required, giving sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points
• Ensure tests are carried out as per international codes and standards
• Apply HVAC engineering principles, design and install HVAC systems, and implement codes such as ASHRAE

Required profile

• University degree with 7 years of inspection experience, or high school diploma with 10 years of inspection experience
• At least 5 years overall experience, including 3 years in inspection specialty and 2 years in contract scope of work
• At least 3 years supervising construction activities in contracts such as oil, gas, petrochemical, infrastructure or communication projects
• High school graduate or higher, fully conversant with industry standards and able to perform inspection functions with minimal supervision

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC codes such as SMACNA, Uniform Mechanical Code, ASME 31.9, NFPA 90A and ASHRAE handbooks or equivalent standards
• Quality control inspection and understanding of HVAC drawings and specifications
