QC Inspector - Mechanical (MRI)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for the Mechanical discipline in Jubail. The inspector performs quality activities according to the quality management system, carries out inspections and controls inspection status through tools such as inspection matrices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and perform inspection of the Mechanical discipline and coordinate inspections with the client
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) with sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points
• Prepare or review subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR)
• Prepare, review and approve inspection reports and control inspection status with inspection matrices
• Set and apply practical inspection processes based on project requirements and international codes
• Close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the due date and support corrective action plans
• Inspect incoming materials against approved submittals, carry out visual and measurement tests, and reject unacceptable materials
• Monitor site erection of static and rotating equipment, and ensure critical activities such as flange parallelism, final alignment and final inspection follow contract and specification
• Review and track material submittals, run toolbox talks on quality violations, and act as QC Supervisor in their absence

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Certified by API (API 653 and API 510)
• Overall experience of 5 years, with 3 years in inspection and 2 years managing the contract scope of work
• Direct experience with static and rotating mechanical equipment, pre-commissioning and quality activities
• Aramco experience is a must; mention SAP No. and passing the CBT in the CV if applicable

Required skills

• Knowledge of engineering codes such as ASME BPVC, ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B73, NACE SPs, API 620, API 650, AWS D1.1, ASTM, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA
• Knowledge of mechanical process systems inspection and testing, including steam turbines, pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, tanks and piping
• Ability to plan and control inspections for medium-scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollars)
