QC Inspector - Piping (Plumbing)

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M across oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical and energy transition sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for piping and plumbing in Jubail. The inspector improves site quality by handling quality issues in line with corporate and project standards and by carrying out inspections and recording results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections on piping and plumbing disciplines and record results on forms as per the ITP
• Update inspection status using tools such as an inspection matrix and prepare inspection records for the MC Doc
• Prepare, review and track material submittals and generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) where needed
• Report non-conformities and observations to QC Supervisors and QC Managers, and prepare NCRs under their direction
• Coordinate inspections with client inspectors and report on surveillance tests against international codes and standards
• Apply piping codes (e.g. ASME B31.3, API 570) and plumbing codes (UPC, IPC, ASME 31.9, NFPA 13, 14, 20, 99, IBC, UFC)
• Understand piping and plumbing fabrication and installation methods, NDT techniques, hydrostatic test packages and documentation requirements

Required profile

• University degree with 7 years of inspection experience, or high school diploma with 10 years
• At least 3 years of direct experience supervising construction activities in oil, gas, petrochemical or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of pipelines, process vessels, storage tanks, piping racks and pipe bridges
• Well versed in MS Office, attention to detail, good communication and ability to work independently
