QC Inspector - Welding

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for welding at its Fadhili site in Saudi Arabia. The inspector performs quality activities according to the project's quality management system, coordinates with other disciplines and supports subcontractors in meeting project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and perform welding inspections, generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) and control inspection status with inspection matrices
• Review and approve subcontractor documents such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR), and prepare or review inspection reports
• Verify welder and welder qualification approvals, and confirm welding consumables, heat treatment requirements and incoming materials
• Witness welder qualification tests, procedure qualification, destructive tests and NDT results, and close out NCRs with corrective actions
• Hold toolbox talks, run preparatory meetings with subcontractors and coordinate quality inspections with the client
• Act as QC Supervisor in their absence and control quality violations

Required profile

• High school graduate or higher, fully conversant with industry standards and specifications
• Arabic experience is needed; CBT pass preferred, and SAP No. should be stated in the CV
• 5 years overall experience, 3 years in inspection specialty, 2 years in contract scope of work
• Certified American Welding Society CWI, CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector or equivalent
• Knowledge of ASME B 31.3, 31.4, 31.8, Section V and IX, API 620 and 650, AWS D1.1, and ASNT Level II certification in NDT methods if NDT is involved
