QC Mechanical/Piping Inspector – Oil & Gas (Saudi Arabia)

About the role

The QC Mechanical/Piping Inspector will lead quality assurance and control activities for oil and gas projects in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The role ensures that all welding, piping, and related inspections meet client specifications, international standards, and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement QA/QC surveillance of subcontractor and sub‑supplier works according to approved ITPs, procedures, and quality plans.
• Prepare, complete and sign all required inspection and testing records.
• Conduct material receiving inspections, verify compliance with MTCs, specifications and traceability requirements.
• Witness and verify Welding Procedure Qualification Tests (WPQT/PQR) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) per client standards.
• Perform fit‑up, joint preparation, pre‑heat, welding parameter and visual inspections before, during and after welding.
• Coordinate and witness NDE activities (RT, UT, MT, PT, Hardness) ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.
• Oversee flange management and hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing of pipelines.
• Review welding records, weld maps, material traceability, consumable control, PWHT records and repair histories.
• Issue Inspection Release Notes (IRNs) and verify test packs and QC dossiers.
• Monitor NCRs, drive timely corrective actions and support quality audits, toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of progressive QC welding/piping inspection experience, preferably in petrochemical or oil & gas projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Valid welding inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI or equivalent).
• Previous experience on SABIC projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, standards and client specifications.
