Quality Engineering Director

About the role

The Quality Engineering Director will lead and scale the software quality strategy for cloud‑native digital products and platforms. You will own quality governance, test automation, non‑functional testing, CI/CD quality gates, and vendor quality management to ensure reliable, compliant releases.

Key responsibilities

• Define the quality engineering vision, operating model, and standards across the software development lifecycle.
• Establish and monitor quality KPIs such as defect leakage, escape rate, automation coverage, and release readiness.
• Lead the test automation roadmap, including framework design, coverage strategy, and integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive API, contract, and service‑level testing for microservices architectures.
• Own performance, load, stress, and security testing to validate scalability and resilience.
• Integrate quality controls into DevOps processes, standardising tools, dashboards and audit trails.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of critical defects and production incidents, implementing preventive actions.

Required profile

• 11+ years of experience in software quality control or quality engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field (required).
• Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or IT Management (preferred).
• Strong background in software development, with hands‑on experience earlier in career.
• Proven track record building and leading automation frameworks.
