Reefer Technician

About the role

The Reefer Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing refrigerated containers to ensure safe transport of temperature‑sensitive cargo. The role involves monitoring temperature, handling alarms, and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on reefer units.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect refrigerated containers during receiving, yard storage, and operational periods.
• Connect and disconnect reefer containers to terminal power supply according to procedures.
• Monitor temperature set points, alarms, and operating status; respond to deviations and power failures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in compressors, fans, sensors, controllers, and electrical circuits.
• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, refrigerant pressure checks, and leak detection.
• Record inspection results, repairs, parts replaced, and coordinate with yard personnel.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with refrigerated containers or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, and control components.
