Repair Engineer

About the role

The Repair Engineer is responsible for managing the repair lifecycle of drilling equipment, ensuring compliance with NOV procedures and delivering high‑quality solutions. This role works closely with vendors, internal teams, and shop supervisors to coordinate repairs, perform root‑cause analysis, and support major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Issue repair dispositions (machining, welding, coating, pressure testing, FATs) following NOV local and global procedures.
• Manage NCRs raised during repairs, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to vendors throughout the repair process for NOV equipment.
• Lead the repair team on SPS and other major jobs, and develop new vendor capabilities.
• Improve repair efficiency by developing tools, instruments, and new equipment.
• Review QC inspection reports and assist in creating and reviewing repair SOWs.
• Collaborate with planning and purchasing teams to scope quotes, estimate costs, and source local parts.
• Perform PIB checks at all repair stages and support shop supervisors as needed.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in repair and inspection of drilling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment repair processes and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
