Safety Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Safety Engineer to join our construction operations in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) measures, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations and NFPA standards across all site activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments.
• Review JSA/JHA, method statements, and Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) documentation.
• Oversee high‑risk construction activities such as work at height, lifting, excavation, scaffolding, hot work, electrical work, and confined spaces.
• Lead incident, accident, and near‑miss investigations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training.
• Monitor PPE compliance, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and housekeeping.
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors meet HSE requirements and maintain accurate HSE records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in construction safety and fire protection systems.
• Proven experience with installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations and construction safety requirements.

Required skills

• NFPA 72, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 25, NFPA 15, NFPA 20 certifications.
• Fire protection systems installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance.
• Risk assessment, JSA/JHA review, method statement review, Permit‑to‑Work management.
• Incident investigation and safety inspections.
• PPE compliance and fire safety procedures.
• Knowledge of Saudi HSE regulations.
