Safety Specialist

About the role

KONE is looking for a Safety Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, reporting to the Safety Manager. The role is central to KONE's safety culture and aims to continuously improve safety performance and awareness within the business unit.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of KONE's safety management system, covering workers, users and third parties, and act as a role model for a caring safety culture
• Maintain safety documentation and take part in the unit safety committee and other safety forums
• Advise the unit on safety matters and plan and run safety improvement projects, working with customers, partners and subcontractors
• Support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools and practices, and support safety-related change management projects
• Collect and report leading and lagging safety data, monitor the legal and business environment for safety, and perform regular safety audits to check compliance and identify uncontrolled risks
• Analyze and investigate incidents, manage corrective and preventive actions, and assist line management in safety audits and visits
• Develop own competences and support the training of others, and share safety information such as investigation outcomes and best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in safety in elevators, construction or related industries
• NEBOSH and IOSH certificates are mandatory
• Excellent English and Arabic language skills
• Passion for safety, with excellent communication, training and organizational skills
